Daylight Saving Time

In summer New Zealand uses 'daylight saving', with clocks put forward one hour to GMT +13.

Daylight saving begins on the last Sunday in September and ends on the first Sunday in April of the following year.

Important New Zealand Dates

New Zealand celebrates several dates throughout the year. Each New Zealand region observes an "anniversary" every year as well as the following Public Holidays:

New Years Day: 1st - 2nd January
Waitangi Day: 6th February
Good Friday: The Friday before Easter Sunday
Easter Monday: The day after Easter Sunday
ANZAC Day: 25th April
Queen's Birthday: 1st Monday of June
Labour Day: The fourth Monday in October
Christmas Day: 25th December
Boxing Day: 26th December

NB: When the public holiday falls on a weekend, some of the public holiday will be recognised on the following working day.
